When Gibsons carved-top guitar luthiers in Memphis began building the magnificent ES-137 Classic in 2002, it was an instant success that lived up to its name. The ES-137 is an instant Classic because it combines the glories of two classic styles of Gibson cornerstone instruments. Players sang and still sing - its praises, citing the ES-137 Classics great feel and gorgeous appearance, as well as its astonishing sonic versatility, from the smooth, round, clean tones required for old-school jazz to the snarl and distortion of cutting edge rock. Body: The ES-137 blends the looks and overall style of a single cutaway semi-hollowbody guitar and the sonic authority of a Gibson Les Paul Classic. It refines the basic design of earlier semi-hollowbody Gibsons by swapping the styles maple centerblock for solid mahogany to increase sustain and reduce feedback at even heavy metal volumes. With its single Florentine cutaway, the ES-137 Classic draws on the heritage of Gibsons earlier ES-135 and ES-175 models for historic inspiration, but sustain, sizzle, and some appealing non-traditional color options make it an absolutely contemporary instrument. Although the ES-137 Classic also has a custom model, the Classic has plenty of design charm and individuality. It features a top, back, and rims made of visually appealing curly maple on a 16-inches wide, 20-inches long, and 2-inches deep body. But the 12th fret of the ES-137 sports a pearloid inlay C to denote its own classic status. And in addition to tri-burst and heritage cherry sunburst finishes, the ES-137 Classic also comes in ultra-modern blues burst and sliver shades. Gibson Les Paul Standard KORINA. CUSTOM SHOP. 2001..

Rare and beautiful 2001 Custom Shop Standard with ALL Korina body and neck, in MINT condition. This Yamano special order is built like Historic Les Paul reissues: non-chambered, non-weight relieved, with the long tenon, holly headstock veneer, ABR-1 bridge, thin binding in the cutaway, reissue style routings, dark ruby red tortoise side markers (you have to put in direct sunlight to see the red), silkscreened "Les Paul model", MOP Gibson inlay, and Historic-Vintage spec 2 1/4" spacing between the pickup rings. Most of the Korina Les Pauls, what few there were, are either the 1999 version that are the regular USA short tenon version, or the other style Custom Shop version with Western maple quilted tops. This is the ONLY one I have seen like this one. The rosewood fretboard is dark, smooth and waxy, a very high quality selection of wood. I suspect it is Madagascar. Korina is probably the best solid body guitar tone wood. This Les Paul has the great sustain Les Pauls are known for, plus a fantastic dynamic SNAP! not found on regular mahogany and maple Les Pauls. The neck is between a thick 58 and a medium 59, substantial but not overly large like some early 00s Historic Goldtops are. The original medium jumbo frets are in mint condition, the neck is straight, with no buzzing or dead spots. . Nice weight: 4013 gram. 95000 SEK

Kay Custom Kraft Color Dynamic model 4155 Midnight Special in Dazzling Sparkle Black 1961-1962.

Checker binding! In 1961, SLM changed orders with Kay and converted its Thinlines to a new series of Custom Kraft Color Dynamic Electric Guitars. Basically, these were identical to their Kay siblings except for being available in cool new colors; the 4153 was the Red Fury in Bright Fire Engine Red, the 4154 was the White Crusader in Pure Snow White, and the 4155 was the Midnight Special in Dazzling Sparkle Black. All listing for $99.95 with a highly polished case, cord, and neck adjustment key. Beyond the names of the colors, these were some of the best model names ever! Made of laminated maple with a bolt-on (probably) maple neck. Nize dark Rosewood fingerboard. The top and rosewood fingerboard are bound in cool checkerboard celluloid. The single-coil pickups are stock Kay units. These are decent little guitars with respectable output, perfect for romping through Duane Eddy licks or the “Guitar Boogie Shuffle!” The pickups have that sparkling clarity only a single-coil can deliver. Plus, if you’re not as young as you used to be, you’ll appreciate the light weight of the hollow body! The Kay Thinline series was offered through 1965, but SLM’s Custom Kraft Dynamic Colors seem to drop from sight after ’62. Whether or not they also made it through ’65 is not known. .. fbig 9500 SEK
